We are pleased to introduce the second edition of our « Best of » series!

This edition is a summary of the latest scientific research on the gut microbiota and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBD research has made some exciting progress in the past decade, thanks to the myriad studies investigating the role of the gut microbiota. The Gut Microbiota for Health Experts Exchange has covered Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis more than any other topics and, reflecting the importance of intestinal microbiota in IBD.

In this document, you’ll have a picture of how probiotics, genes, the immune system, the intestinal microbiota, and environmental triggers might interact in the onset and course of IBD in both adult and pediatric populations.

Patients, doctors, associations, we also present in the document a list of the most influential Twitter accounts in the field of IBD.
